Battleground: Clash of the Warriors DANCE Contest (FEB.12, 2014, 6:00P.M.)

• Open to all amateur dance groups
• 8 -15 members (any gender) and each member must be must be 15 to 20 years old
• The group is allowed to dance any song with a maximum of 6 minutes running. The song must not have foul words, promotion of violence and the like. FAILURE TO FOLLOW WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
• Dance presentation must not have negative implications such as violence, sexual connotation or others thru portrayals with the steps and must not consist of lifting. FAILURE TO FOLLOW WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
• The use of props will be allowed, provided that the materials used will not post any harm on any of the participants, organizers and/or audience members. (No flammable materials).
• THIS DANCE CONTEST DOES NOT HAVE A REGISTRATION FEE OR ANY OTHER PAYMENT.
• Along with the registration form is the submission of the following:
• Photocopy of birth certificate of each member.
• Signed Waiver for each member.
• Barangay endorsement for each member (barangay endorsement for the whole group is accepted if members enlisted are with same residency).
• Must submit registration form before February 10, 2014, 5:00P.M. with the CD for the song and with track number.
• Judges final decisions are irrevocable.

MUTYA NG BARANGAY BUHANGIN PROPER 2014 PAGEANT MECHANICS:

I. QUALIFICATIONS

The search is open to all single ladies who will meet the following requirements:

1. AGE: 16 to 21 years old
Candidates must be 16 years old on or before the Pageant Night / 23 years old before the deadline of application which will be on January 29, 2014.

2. HEIGHT: 5’2” barefoot

3. CAN BE A BONA FIDE RESIDENT OR NOT A RESIDENT OF BARANGAY BUHANGIN PROPER
4. HAS A GOOD MORAL CHARACTER

II. SCREENING PROCESS

Every qualified candidate is encouraged to join the pageant. During the screenings, applicants are required to bring the following:

1. Copy of her birth certificate
2. Personal data form
4. One 3R whole body picture with any colored background
5. One 3R half-bust/close-up picture with any colored background
6. Parental consent if applicant is 16 & 17 years old and an endorsement from the Barangay Captain.

Present the above-mentioned requirements on or before the January 29, 2014 at the 2^nd flr. Of Barangay Buhangin Proper, Brgy. Hall.

Candidates can only withdraw from the pageant before the Final Presentation. If a candidate withdraws after this, no substitution will take place.

III. CODE OF CONDUCT

1. Candidate affirms that:
• she is and will continue to be a person of good moral character;
• she has not committed and will not commit any act inconsistent with the highest standards of public morals and conventions or that will reflect unfavorably on the pageant, its representatives, sponsors and/or licensees;
• she has not appeared in nude or provocative photographs for any film or publication prior to, during the preliminary or pageant finals, or during her reign should she become the Mutya ng Barangay Buhangin Proper 2014.

2. Any candidate found publicly posting slanderous remarks on public forums will be immediately disqualified.

3. Winners/titlists of previous Mutya ng Barangay Buhangin Proper pageants will not be
allowed to join this event.

4. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times. Disruptive behavior before, during, or after the pageant may result in disqualification, removal from the premises, and legal charges.

IV. PRE-PAGEANT

Screening – January 29, 2014, 3:00 p.m. 2^nd flr., Brgy. Hall

Each candidate will compete in the following categories:

PRE-PAGEANT: February 2, 2014 (Pictorial)

1. Miss Photogenic – The criteria include basis of photogenic beauty, captured personality or mood, technical quality of photograph and the ability of contestant to share her true self in the image. Candidates will be judged by the official photographer of the pageant and selected NGOs.

PRE-PAGEANT: February 13, 2014

1. Talent Competition – Every candidate will be given three to five (3-5) minutes for their talent presentation and will be timed. Each talent presentation must be performed live. Use of fire, swords, knives, bow and arrow acts, live animals or liquids of any type, confetti and other dangerous talent routines are prohibited. For dance presentations, back-up dancers will be limited to two (2) persons only. Candidates are to be rated according to

o Execution —              80%
o Audience Appeal —    20%
TOTAL —                      100%

V. PAGEANT NIGHT

1. Play Suit Attire Competition – In this phase of competition, candidates will wear the provided Play suit. They will be judged on the following criteria:

o Visual Impact —         40%
o Audience Impact –      10%
o Poise and Grace —    50%
TOTAL —                      100%

2. Creative Wear Competition – Candidates must show proper poise and bearing while in their British soldier inspired costume (please see Victoria Secret 2013 Fashion Show Opening Production for ideas). In this phase of competition, the contestant has to present herself as a dynamic, beautiful, strong and independent young woman. This creative attire must be not show sexual implications, provocative and must be worn with decency. She will be rated based on:

o Fitting —                    50%
o Poise and Bearing —  50%
TOTAL —                      100%

3. Evening Gown Competition – The elegant wear or the evening gown is designed for the contestant to make an on-stage statement of her compelling charm, presence and personality. Further, her beauty, sense of style, composure and allure must be projected across the footlights. The evening wear should complement both the young woman’s individual style and personality, expressed in the “total look.” Candidates will be rated based on

o Design and Fitting —                          40%
o Poise and Grace —                            30%
o Projection and Stage Presence —       20%
o Totality of Elements —                       10%

Other Categories:

Miss Congeniality – The recipient of this award is the contestant who is judged by her peers to be the most congenial, charismatic and inspirational pageant participant. The contestants cannot vote for themselves for this title. If there is a tie in votes, the judges will vote amongst themselves to cast the winner of Miss Congeniality.

INTELLIGENCE PHASE PORTION

The chosen Top 5 will undergo Question and Answer portion. During this part, candidates will pick a number corresponding to a picture/video about environmental and socio-political issues. They will be given two (2) minutes to discuss the issue presented in the screen and what she can contribute to manage or solve the problem.

From their scores, the Top 5 Finalists will compete in the final round. Here, the previous scores will be disregarded and the Top 5 candidates will go through a final on-stage interview. They will be rated based on the final performance on the following criteria:

• Intelligence — 50%
• Beauty —       50%
TOTAL —          100%

The Top 5 candidates will be declared as Mutya ng Barangay Buhangin Proper 2014.

Note: The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.

Prizes can be claimed a month after the competition due to government accounting rules and processes.
